2018 Order of Niagara Recipients Honoured

Order of Niagara
Through the Order of Niagara, the Anglican Diocese of Niagara seeks to honour lay people
and their important contributions to our common ministry. "Our lay people are the heartbeat
of our church and it's just great to honour their ministry in this way," said Bishop Susan Bell
about her first Order of Niagara induction service held on September 30, at Christ's Church Cathedral
in Hamilton. George Gastle and Will Ross (Left to right in photo) were two of the 2018 recipients of the Order of Niagara,
recognizing their contribution to their respective parishes of St. Paul's, Norval and St. John's, Stewarttown.

INUIT OUTREACH PROJECT

Inuit Outreach
INUIT OUTREACH PROJECT
The Inuit Outreach Project has been collecting and sending clothing, household and essential items to
the north since 2010. It is a vibrant and growing organization whose foundational support comes from three small Anglican
churches with big hearts in the Halton Hills region – St Paul’s, Norval; St John’s, Stewarttown & St.
Stephen’s, Hornby.
The request for assistance has been answered in the form of nearly 15 tons over the shipments done twice a year.
The dozens and dozens of volunteers & contributors from Halton Hills and neighbouring communities who have generously given their time, money, and other donations are growing in number and determination! They are making a difference as they give to the Inuit in Canada’s north, and learn about Inuit culture and ways of knowing and being.
Volunteer by contacting Connie Karlsson conniejkarlsson@gmail.com or at (905)-877-2436. Like us on FacebookClick here to visit the Inuit Outreach Project on Facebook

Giving With Grace

Five years ago the Anglican Diocese of Niagara launched "Hands Across Niagara", a shared annual appeal with the Anglican Church of Canada. Since its inception many creative justice and servant ministry initiatives have been supported at all levels of our church through the incredible generosity of Anglicans in Niagara.
Going forward, we have made the decision to channel the resources of "Hands Across Niagara" towards the national church’s annual appeal called "Giving with Grace", formerly known as the Anglican Appeal. We do so for an important reason: the "Anglican Healing Fund" is coming to the end of the resources generously provided for its work. In response "Giving with Grace" seeks to replenish its funds to help us continue to foster community-based healing projects.
The Bishop and Primate invite you to redirect your Hands Across Niagara contribution to this important Giving with Grace annual appeal.
Learn more about "Giving with Grace" here.

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem"

This song is a prayer for peace in Jerusalem. Scripture says "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper who love thee" (Ps 122:6). We say amen and "Even so, come quickly LORD" (Rev 22:20).
